Streamlined #536

K2D Pacific #536 shown at Shops immediately after application of streamlining. This included a change of tenders from rectangular to Vandy, application of side skirting, and full skylight fairing. On the first day of in-service operation #536 struck a vehicle at a grade crossing and lost the streamlined pilot when repaired. This design foretold of NC's Yellow Jacket trademark paint scheme.
