Nashville Union Station

Originally jointly built by the NC&StL and L&N,
Union Station is a historic landmark in downtown Nashville.  Construction began on August 1, 1898 and the station officially opened on October 9, 1900.

The Train Shed was the largest unsupported span in America, housing up to 10 full trains at one time.  Unfortunately, even though declared a National Historic Landmark, the train shed deteriorated badly over the years, and was finally demolished in 2000.

Currently, Union Station is used as a
Wyndham Historic Hotel
.
