Jackson, Tennessee

The Jackson depot (P&M Division) is owned and has been beautifully restored by the City of Jackson, Tenn.  The depot was built by the NC&StL in 1907, and is home to the City of Jackson NC&StL Depot and Railroad Museum, and the Jackson Model Railroad Club.

Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Depot Jackson Depot museum. A Chessie caboose, Southern caboose and Amtrak diner are on display. This depot is only a few miles from the Casey Jones Museum.

In early 2003, a tornado came through Jackson. While the depot building remained standing, extensive water damage occurred, and many artifacts were destroyed. The model railroad layout sustained heavy damage.

NCPS received the following update 3/20/04:

Just wanted to let you know we have been back in operation since September, including the layout. I am still trying to build back a full roster of NC&StL, IC and GM&O items, plus a general freight car pool (any road) so if anyone has any items they want to donate it will be appreciated. We also would like to have an NC&StL freight house, if someone has one they want to part with.

Any donations can be sent to the Jackson Depot at the following address:

The N.C. &St. L. Depot Museum
582 South Royal Street
Jackson,Tenn. 38301

Please mention NC&StL Preservation Society if you donate any items. Thanks.

Further information on the Jackson Depot can be found here.
